We haven't posted our Mammoth Mountain snow report in a few weeks, partially because there hasn't been much to report. This is the first time in recorded snowfall history that Mammoth did not get any snow in January. We are now going on 6 weeks with no snow, but we do have a shot at getting 3"-6" next week.
As you can see from the photo above, the coverage is still great. People seem to have forgotten that we received over 20 FEET of snow in Dec. Cold temps at night and great grooming efforts have kept the snow conditions from deterioration to much. Expect great groomers, perfect park features, and softening snow off trail on warmer days.
There are very few bare spots on the mountain and the sun has been shining bright the last few weeks. Expect more perfect weather for the foreseeable future with chance of snow Monday into Tuesday (Feb 14-15). We are seeing spring conditions in February and it is super fun out there right now. This weekend is the Super Bowl and I am expecting lighter than normal crowds. There are virtually no lift lines mid-week right now, so get up here and shred.
If you like hitting the park, it is the perfect time to come to Mammoth. There are features for every level of rider/skier. Check out Jibs Galore for some awesome intermediate level jumps and rails and if you are an expert level park rat then head over to main park for some huge jumps (currently being built, should be ready for the weekend). For beginners, head over to chair 7 where wonderland playground offers up some mellower features.
